Towing Tractors

Electric vehicles with great loading and towing capacity, genereally used inside railway stations, airports, supermarket, industries, warehouses and hangar.

The main purpose of towing tractors is to tow one or more trailer where you have the goods, for logistic operations, maintenance work or cleaning.
Flexibility and high performance in the most varied situations of use:

COURSE OVERVIEW

To provide the theoretical and practical knowledge to operate and drive safely an industrial tractor, with or without trailers. This syllabus may be applied to rider tow tractors, pedestrian tow tractors and pedestrian tow tractors with a rider platform. The term “drive” may be substituted by “move” to accommodate both types.

 

1 Day Refresher And Test Course
The ideal course for the person with previous operational experience and formal training in the use of lift trucks. Applicants must be physically and mentally capable of operating a powerful machine safely. If in doubt medical consultation is advised.

 

2 Day Basic Operator Course [for those with no truck operational experience]
The ideal course for the person with no operational experience who requires full formal training in the use of trucks, as recommended in the Health & Safety Commission “Approved Code Of Practice and Supplementary Guidance for Rider Operated Truck Operator Training” (L117). Applicants must be physically and mentally capable of operating a powerful machine safely. If in doubt medical consultation is advised.

On completion of the course trainees will also have undergone the appropriate theoretical and practical tests of ‘basic operating skills and knowledge’ as endorsed by the

Health & Safety Commission “Approved Code Of Practice and Supplementary Guidance for Rider Operated Truck Operator Training” (L117).

The course objectives are as follows:

  • Demonstrate an understanding of the rated capacity of a Tow Tractor.
  • Carry out a pre-use inspection.
  • Able to operate safely under varying site conditions.
  • Travel (forward and reverse) with laden and un-laden trailers.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of operator’s responsibilities & relevant legislation.
  • Operate the machine safely and correctly in accordance with manufacturers instructions
